Our family of six moved to Anacortes in July 2023. My wife had just completed 10 years as a physician in the Navy, and after living in a new location every 2-3 years, we were eager to find the ideal location for our family to settle. We had a strong attraction to Washington, having spent a few vacations enjoying the beauty of the state.

When we visited Anacortes for an interview at Island Health, we had a meeting with the school district to learn more about the schools in Anacortes. Then Assistant Superintendent Dr. Clifford sat with us for almost an hour, answering our questions and telling us about the Anacortes School District. This meeting gave us confidence that moving to Anacortes would be great for our family, and in the past 2.5 years, the schools here have lived up to every expectation. We have found a vibrant, supportive community in the Anacortes School District, with so many opportunities for our children across the spectrum of academics, arts, and athletics.

The upcoming renewal of the EP&O and Capital Facility Levies is essential to ensuring our schools continue to operate at a high level and continue to attract families who will make our community stronger. We encourage you to join our family in voting to renew the levies in the February 10 election.
