2026 Anacortes School Levies
Voters are being asked to vote on two Anacortes School levies to support the local school district. Why do we support these measures?
Voting YES for Anacortes kids means voting yes for strong schools, a strong community, and a strong local workforce.
Strong Schools
State and federal money provides about 82% of our district’s funding. The remaining 18% must be sourced directly from our community, via levies.
Strong schools are a pillar of any community, and Anacortes has long prided itself on the quality of its public schools.
Our levies are what allow Anacortes School District to maintain smaller class sizes, provide myriad extracurricular activities, conduct preventative building maintenance (thus avoiding greater expense down the line), and ensure student safety.
Strong Community
Strong schools are a pillar of any community. We believe a quality public school system graduates thriving, healthy community members.
Safe schools allow students to focus on learning and growing.
A wide variety of extracurriculars, including athletics, performing arts, and academically-focused clubs, allows each student to find their “niche” and pursue passions that allow them to grow and flourish into mature, well-rounded, and productive adults.
Community sponsorship and support strengthen the bonds between Anacortes students and the wider community, benefiting everyone.
